4 Prenatal Meetings (1-2 hours)

Prenatal 1 (in-person) : In this meeting we will get to know each other better by having an explorative and non judgemental conversation about birth, your vision for your own birth, your fears or concerns, your mind/body connection, and how I can be most helpful and supportive as your doula.

We will also go over stretches and Spinning Babies techniques to help you connect to your body and baby, prepare your body for birth, and encourage your baby to move into an optimal position for labor.

Prenatal 2 (in-person) : This meeting is all about birth. We will be discussing the physiological process of birth, how your hormones and nervous system are involved, how to best support your body to do what it is designed to do, hands on comfort techniques, laboring at home, and ways for your partner to support you.

Prenatal 3 (virtual) : This meeting is a dive into the medical side of birth. We will be discussing your options for medical pain management, common interventions, cesarean birth, how to navigate forks in the road, the hospital system, informed consent, and how to find your voice and be an active participate during your labor and birth.

Prenatal 4 (virtual) : In this meeting, we will be discussing immediate postpartum in the hospital and postpartum in your home. Some topics include how to transition into the 4th trimester, postpartum recovery, tips for the first few weeks with a newborn, caring for a newborn, and plans for support.

5th Prenatal Add-On: In this meeting we will cover lactation and newborn care and do hands on practice using baby dolls so you can get a feel for what it will be like to care for your little one We will discuss the basics of lactation, five different types of feeding including breastfeeding and bottle feeding, latching and feeding positions, hunger cues, pumping, formula, and common issues that can arise.

Additionally, we will learn and practice holding and maneuvering a baby, soothing techniques, changing diapers, clothing, swaddling, baby wearing, bathing, and general information about what to expect with a newborn.

Continuous Labor and Birth Support

We will be in contact when you suspect your labor has begun. I will support you over the phone, by answering any questions and making suggestions, and will join you in person, either at your home or in the hospital, when you decide. In person, I will support you by using a variety of techniques discussed in our prenatal meetings. Once I join you, I will stay with you until your baby is born.

Immediate Postpartum Support 2 Hours

I will stay by your side during the “golden hour” and until your are transferred to your postpartum room.

2 Postpartum Check In (1-2 hours, in-person)

During these visits we will check in about how you are feeling, recovering, and adjusting to life with a new baby. Additionally, we can review your birth and discuss any questions you might have, I can help with breastfeeding (latching and positions), answer questions about your baby, sleeping, your recovery and more.
