The Full birth Package
This birth package includes prenatal meetings 1-4 from the Class Birth Package, plus an additional in-person, hands-on 5th prenatal meeting to discuss and practice newborn care. It is perfect for first time parent who want to get the full spectrum of education and preparation for birth and postpartum.
5 Prenatal Meetings (1-2 hours, in-person in your home)
Prenatal 1: In this meeting we will get to know each other better by having an explorative and non judgemental conversation about birth, your vision for your own birth, your fears or concerns, your mind/body connection, and how I can be most helpful and supportive as your doula.
We will also go over Spinning Babies techniques to help you connect to your body and baby, prepare your body for birth, and encourage your baby to move into an optimal starting position for labor.
Prenatal 2: This meeting is all about birth. We will discuss the physiological process of birth, how your hormones and nervous system are involved, how to best support your body to do what it is designed to do, hands on comfort techniques, laboring at home, and ways for your partner to support you.
Prenatal 3: This meeting is a dive into the medical side of birth. We will discuss your options for medical pain management, common interventions, cesarean birth, how to navigate forks in the road, the hospital system, informed consent, and how to find your voice and be an active participate during your labor and birth.
Prenatal 4: In this meeting, we will be discussing immediate postpartum in the hospital and postpartum after you arrive home. Some topics include postpartum recovery, newborn feeding and sleep cycles, newborn cues, soothing techniques, and plans for having support and visitors.
Prenatal 5: In this meeting we will do hands on practice using baby dolls so you can get a feel for what it will be like to care for your little one. We will practice holding and maneuvering a baby, soothing techniques, changing diapers, clothing, swaddling, baby wearing, bathing, and general information about what to expect with a newborn
+Complimentary Lactation Prenatal Meeting
In this meeting we will discuss how to “bring in” your milk, how to know your baby is getting enough, positions for breastfeeding and latch, do a flange fitting, and answer questions about bottles and pumps.
Continuous Labor and Birth Support
We will be in contact when you suspect your labor has begun. I will support you over the phone, by answering any questions and making suggestions, and will join you in person, either at your home or in the hospital, when you decide. In person, I will support you by using a variety of techniques discussed in our prenatal meetings. Once I join you, I will stay with you until your baby is born.
Immediate Postpartum Support 2 Hours
I will stay by your side during the “golden hour” and until your are transferred to your postpartum room.
3 Postpartum Check-ins (1-3 hours, in-person)
During these visits we will check in about how you are feeling, recovering, and adjusting to life with a new baby. Additionally, we can review your birth and discuss any questions you might have, I can help support breastfeeding and troubleshoot any concerns, answer questions about your baby, sleeping, and more.
